Here's a startling quote from Water.org: 884 million people lack access to safe water supplies. That's 1/8th of the world's population. Almost a billion people. A fact of this magnitude is almost impossible to appreciate.

If you or I were walking past just a few people on the side of the road drinking polluted water, we'd feel terrible. But 884 million? It's hard to come to grips with.

So it's fantastic to know that groups like Water.org are coming to grips with the problem.

Water.org is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to clean water around the world. They employ an intensive, locally oriented approach to help communities secure safe and clean water. You might want to read about their solutions to these problems here.
